Car Crashes Through Wall Of DC Daycare Center, Lands In 'Infant Room'

Potential disaster was averted early on Friday morning in Washington, DC when a car came crashing through a building that houses a daycare center.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the 300 block of Eastern Avenue NE when a Toyota smashed through the wall of the Discovery Learning Academy.

No children were inside the daycare at the time of the crash on Friday morning.

In photos from the scene, signs for an "Infant Room," and what appears to be a crib can be seen next to the crashed car.  

No information about a possible driver or charges has been announced by the police, which reportedly was pursuing a suspect. No injuries were reported.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area during the investigation and the street was closed down temporarily .
